Bringing the light to parts of the road where the cyclist really needs it for a secure tide - that was the target in developing the new LUMOTEC IQ Cyo, an LED headlight featuring the light technology IQ-TEC, an invention by Busch & Mueller. At its centre is a specially developed reflector with an integrated cooling system.

Because of the enormous brightness of IQ headlights, the path directly in front of the bicycle appeared to be very dark even though it is brighter than it is with halogen headlights. The LUMOTEC IQ Cyo R additionally now offers bright light at close range as well. Close range is specified as the area between one and four metres in front of the bike. Usually, this area remains more or less dark with all available headlights that have their brightest spot at a distance of ten metres.

The LUMOTEC IQ Cyo is serially available with electronic standlight that can be deactivated using the integrated rotary switch - because it should not lead the way for potential bicycle thieves. The LUMOTEC IQ Cyo is available in two different versions: one with an integrated front reflector (that is mandatory in Germany) and with light at close range with up to 40 Lux, and the sports version with clear glass design, without the front reflector, supplying up to 60 Lux.

Models with sensor technology have a built in eight second delay. This means that street lamps or passing cars cannot deactivate the headlight by the sensor reacting to their light.

The LUMOTEC IQ Cyo also captivates with its distinctive and exclusively designed casing. This season, in addition to the current black casing colour, a new style is available, making the Cyo even more attractive: specially chromed, the casing sports an elegant aluminium look. The new casing colour is in line with the retro trend and makes it possible to integrate the headlight discreetly into equivalent bike frames.
